IMPORTANT! Procion dyes must be used in conjunction with Soda Ash Fixative to ensure that they work properly. This is an essential step to ensure that your dyes permanent and will not run and fade in the wash, so PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! Click below to add Soda Ash Dye Fixative to your cart.
SODA ASH DYE FIXATIVE
Soda ash (sodium carbonate) is the appropriate dye fixative for use with fibre reactive dyes on cellulose fibres. It is used to raise the pH in the pre-soak before you dye your fabric, helping to fix the dyes to the fibres of the fabric. This is an essential step to ensure that your tie dye is colourfast and that the dyes are permanent, so PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!
The ratio for the soda ash dye fixative soaking solution is 1 cup of soda ash to 4 litres of water.
PLEASE NOTE: The maximum amount of soda ash that can be posted within one order is 3kg. Any orders including more than 3kg of soda ash will be posted with 3kg and automatically refunded the difference.
