FUCHSIA RED (Primary)
Fuchsia Red is the primary red base colour in our range of dyes. The other primary colours for mixing are Turquoise and Lemon Yellow, and Fuchsia mixes cleanly with them to create secondary colours of green, orange and purple. Used on its own, Fuchsia is more "pinkish" rather than "reddish", so try our Chinese Red procion dye if you're looking for a "true" red shade.
The undisputed King Of Tie Dye, once you try using procion fibre reactive dyes you'll never go back to other dyes! When used correctly and in conjunction with soda ash fixative, they create vibrant, rich and colourfast results. They don't fade, even after repeated washing and they are great value for money, safe, easy and fun to use! Procion dyes work best with natural cellulose fibres like cotton, bamboo, hemp etc. Procion fibre reactive dyes form a permanent bond with the fibres instead of sitting on top of the fabric like other dyes, meaning that they will not bleed or run after the dyeing process is completed, making them completely safe to use on baby clothing, bed linen and even baby carriers.
Available in 20g, 50g or 100g jars, or get everything you need to get started with our complete DIY Tie Dye Kits.
Please keep in mind that the colours may appear slightly differently on your screen than in your final results, due to several factors including differences in screen resolution settings and fabric composition.
The ratio of dye to water that we like to use is about half a teaspoon (approximately 2g) of powdered dye in 200ml of water. You can change the intensity and shades of the colours by using more or less dye powder.
IMPORTANT! Procion dyes must be used in conjunction with Soda Ash Fixative to ensure that they work properly. This is an essential step to ensure that your dyes permanent and will not run and fade in the wash, so PLEASE DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP! Click below to add Soda Ash Dye Fixative to your cart.
